Kick-off

Hey everybody!

Let’s talk about our Kick-Off meeting on Saturday

We all arrived on time 🙂 on Saturday morning to our one day Kick-Off meeting at EPFL in Lausanne.

During the morning session we looked at different tools we can use which will hopefully make our life easier while working in our 7 men (and women) group. After a good and solid lunch we finally got to work in our groups to continue on our project…

After hours of discussions in the group and thanks to some really helpful as well as fruitful inputs from Alex and Pablo (thanks a lot guys) we once again adapted our idea. So let me fill you all in about the state of our connected device pEggy.

Basically pEggy is a mix between a piggy bank and a cash dispenser which aims to educate children between 6 to 12 years about the management of money. PEggy counts the inserted money as well as distributes the desired amount. It will be connected with a Smartphone application which allows parents to have a good overview about the child’s cash flow history and children to see their bank balance and interact with pEggy

We still have to figure out the exact interaction between the kids and pEggy to guarantee that it’s more an educative device than a gadget. Furthermore, we are still not really sure about the design and shape.

However, at the end of the day we got the chance to actually build a first idea of the prototype by using cardboard, tape and a lot of creativity

After presenting our prototype to the other groups we then could listen to their feedbacks as well as collect some valuable inputs to improve our device.

We are looking forward to seeing you all again soon and wish the teams all the best for their projects.

Salutations de la part de tous les membres de Team Fribourg 🙂
