The third edition of the China Hardware Innovation Camp got onto a great start thanks to the workshop on teams brilliantly organised and animated by Prof. Jacques Lanarès from the University of Lausanne.

The workshop brought together 45 students from EPFL, UNIGE, ecal and UNIL*. It introduced them to group work, leadership and animation of meetings. In the philosophy of CHIC, lectures were kept to a minimum to give room for activities, including the building of towers with a minimum of material (see below).

The towers were evaluated on the basis of height, solidity and aesthetics. And the winner is… the 3rd from the left © D. Buchs
CHIC students will soon meet again for the ideation week-end (October 29-30). Stay tuned to find out what the 4 teams will be working on!
P.S: *The new edition of CHIC also marks the transformation of the program into a Minor for EPFL students. It was therefore the occasion to bring together the students following the China and Russia stream of the Minor in Science, Technology and Area Studies.
