Just a quick message before the final Milestone presentation (in Switzerland!) and before leaving for China!
We finally implemented the first technical prototype: We have integrated a new bluetooth module which will connect to iPhones and will toggle the Do Not Disturb Mode While Driving feature integrated in iOS. We developed as well our own capacitive sensing ring area that will be used to detect user interactions.
For now, the capacitive sensing ring is constituted of 6 electrodes and 6 LEDs. It can detect short touch and long touch, but also gestures such as clockwise rotation. The next step is to merge all features that were developed separately to present them together during the final presentation of the semester.
One more thing, we finally ordered the PCB at Seeedstudio. We will receive it very soon, but we will not have it on time for the presentation. However, we will manage to assemble and test it before taking our flight.
