In our own flow towards a fully working prototype

Jet lag is getting better every day but we have a lot of work remaining and consequently the nights are short. During our second day at the coworking space of x.factory our engineers progressed on the final PCB design, which will be smaller than the previous one. Furthermore, some PCB corrections have been undertaken on the first PCB version. Our industrial designer was looking for purchasing the right colour for the casing but it turned out that this “easy task” is far more difficult than expected here in China. Even after several tries and specific article number ordering the intended color was still not delivered. We learn everyday to adapt ourselves to the Chinese circumstances. We also had the chance to present quickly our project to a Chinese businessman who has know-how in large scale production. He affirmed that the problem of getting distracted during work is big problem here in China.

Today, we had our first pitch in front of HAX accelerator, the world’s first and largest hardware accelerator, as they describe themselves. They invest in startups, who are selected through competitive selection, and help them to bring the product to the market, to develop their business and to raise money. For us it was a huge opportunity to train our presentation skills and to promote the product the first time in front of a CHIC external audience. During the next days, other pitch opportunities will follow.
Another exciting event of today was the visit of Huaqiangbei, a well-known district in China for the purchase of electronic components. Our team spent a lot of time searching the right LEDs, which we finally found at a good price.
